SSA member Norm Abrahamson, a senior engineering seismologist at Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in San Francisco, is the 2009 Distinguished Lecturer for the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI). He presented his lecture, "The State of the Practice of Seismic Hazard Analysis: From the Good to the Bad," at EERI's Annual Meeting in February 2009 in Salt Lake City.
