	SSA Board Election: Vote Online Now

 
SSA members are now able to cast ballots electronically in the Society's annual elections. The 2009 election for the SSA Board of Directors is being held online through Election-America, an election services company. Election-America was scheduled to e-mail detailed voting instructions, including passwords, to SSA members in October. Be sure to put "SSAvote@election-america.com" on your safe-sender list.

Voting began on 15 October 2008 and will close at 12 Noon PST on Friday, 9 January 2009. Candidate statements are available at www.seismosoc.org or in SRL 79:5.

If you need assistance or want to vote via paper ballot, please contact election@seismosoc.org or phone 510-525-5474. You will need your member id.

	Nominations Open Now for SSA Awards

 
SSA members are invited to submit nominations for the following four SSA awards by 15 February 2009. Electronic submission is encouraged, though nominations may be submitted in hard copy.

Please note that the principal nominator should integrate the nomination letters and send one nomination package to ensure that all letters of endorsement reach the decision makers on time.

Electronic submissions should be e-mailed in .txt, .pdf or .doc files to awards@seismosoc.org.

You will receive a confirmation of receipt of your nomination. Names of the award winners will be announced at the SSA Annual Meeting Luncheon in Monterey, California, on 9 April 2009. The awards will be presented at the 2010 SSA Annual Meeting Luncheon in Portland, Oregon.
